“What I am watching”
I embrace the premise idea that God uses multiple calendars, to communicate “timings” within His plan. It is like using multiple “witnesses”.
So, finding days/dates on different calendars that dovetail together carries significance in my thinking.
One I see Him definitely using is the Jewish calendar. According to Leviticus 23, God gave Israel the responsibility to proclaim His feasts and their timings. Also, referencing Romans 11:29, the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable. I believe this applies to Israel’s responsibility in Leviticus 23. Per that calendar, the anniversary of Noah’s world wide judgment’s beginning is this coming Nov 7/8.
Per Romans 11:5, God has preserved to Himself a chosen remnant within Israel/Judah. It is my opinion that some of these folks currently reject the traditional teachings of the Rabbis’ and instead place weight on what God says in the Torah. These folks watch for the new moon from within Israel and do not reference calendars like Hebcal. The new moon was sighted in Israel on Oct 23rd which is one day later than what the Hebcal presents and so the anniversary of the flood is pushed forward to Nov 8/9 per what they present.
When I reference the beginning of the month per the full moon, the month starts (in Israel) on the evening of Nov 5, so Nov 7/8 is the third day of the month. Is there scriptural significance to the third day of the month that may apply to us?
There is in I Samuel 20. David meets up with Jonathan and the story shows the meeting took place on the last day of the month, with two separate “new moon” days being in front of them. It is on the 3rd day of the month that David leaves Jonathan. What is interesting to me is the meaning of the name of the stone they chose to meet at. Ezel means “departure”. Also, the “third day” is mentioned in the account of Jesus and His disciples going to a wedding.
Also, if I begin a month at the full moon, then on Nov 5 the full moon rises in the Lamb of God constellation, as the sun is in the Scales constellation. During the time of when Jesus accomplished the blood covenant for us, the sun was in the Lamb of God constellation. Referencing this for us as new creations in Christ, where Jesus is our only true “reference point”, then when the sun is in Aries it is the 1st month and the Scales constellation is the 7th month. That makes Nov 5/6 the Feast of Trumpets referencing the full moon. I believe the Feast of Trumpets definitely includes the idea of announcing judgment. Might we experience something on the world stage on Nov 5/6 that would serve as “day after tomorrow” heads-up to us like what the children of Israel got when they arrived at the base of Mt Sinai? Also, recall the dream/vision of the young Swedish boy a number of years ago where he presented that we would be given a similar timing “heads up” on a Friday morning (Swedish time and Thursday my time), letting us know that we would be meeting God on the following Sunday?
Though I am use to thinking in terms of the sighted moon to start a month, I do not dismiss out of hand the timing of starting a month at the full moon. When God cut the one-sided covenant with Abraham in Genesis 15, the anniversary of such was referenced in Exodus 12:41 when God performed Israel’s exodus, that would have taken place on the 14th/15th of Nisan. Note in Genesis 15:17 that after the sun has set that it was very dark. There was no shining of the full moon in the middle of that month. Makes me think that the middle of that month instead was the concealed moon. I am not adament on this because I understand that the darkness Abraham experienced could have been a miraculous one since it was God “showing up” in a darkness.
Another calendar I believe God will definitely use to communicate with us is that of the sun, moon and stars. On Nov 7th, at sundown in Israel, the sun is next to and actually centered under a particular star in the “Scales” constellation. That star is Zeben el Genubi and means “the price is deficient”. Every year the sun comes next to this star. It is the sycronicity of it happening his year on the anniversary of Noah’s flood that is interesting to me. My mind goes to Daniel 5 where Daniel tells the last king of Babylon, on the last day of that empire, that he has been weighed on the “scales and found deficient”. I am thinking that there are multiple “Babylons” in the scriptures with one being present as an empire at the end of this age. I am thinking the judgement of God might come down on that empire Nov 7/8.
Also, thinking in terms of Babylon, my mind goes to what happened to King Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 4. In verse 30 he states “Is this not Babylon the great, which I myself have built as a royal residence by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?” He was judged by God on that day after having been warned one year prior. I wonder about this ruler of Babylon and how that might relate to us today. I observe that it was on Nov 6, 2024 that the current leader of an empire made his victory speech and said some very arrogant things. Using Grok AI, he said “Many people have told me that God spared my life for a reason (taking God’s name in vain? will God leave him unpunished for this?), and that reason was to save our country and to restore America to greatness, and now we are going to fulfill that mission together.” And, “This will truly be the golden age of America . . . America’s future will be bigger, better, bolder, richer, safer, and stronger than it has ever been before.” Might something take place Nov 5/6 that echoes Daniel 4? I do not know.
Jesus is worthy of our continually watching for Him.
God bless you.
